Went down to Ion Orchard and Orchard Rd thereafter for street photography with Zhiwei. Yes we both felt in need of practice more frequently and finally got our bums moving :P
So... it was my virgin attempt at street photography and it was our first time inside Ion Ochard. It is an interesting place with many creative shops I've not seen elsewhere like The Wright Gift. Oh... not forgetting a coloring set (with crayons... color pencils... and other stuff in some exquisite wooden box/drawer) selling for over SGD$1000 at Graf-von Faber Castell.
I had with me the Canon 400D, Sigma 20mm f1.8, Nikkor S. Auto 50mm f1.4 (adapted to canon) and the Weltblick 135mm f1.8 (adapted to canon). Didn't touch the 50mm at all and had the 135mm stuck on most of the time.
Let's take a look at the pictures first:

It wasn't easy trying to catch the candid moments with a manual focus lens (aka need more practice haha).
She's clearly out of focus but I like the moment so I shared it with you anyways :)
White balance was totally off inside Ion Ochard and I thought I corrected it with my laptop, but I think my screen wasn't calibrated and it seems too yellowish on other screens (despite the fact that I reduced the yellows and reds).
All in all this first street photography attempt felt like a constant battle of trying to stay unnoticed while capturing the moment, thus even 135mm (x1.6) felt too short. Googling the subject I learned that perhaps I need more guts, use a shorter focal length to get up close and personal for more intimate shots. Perhaps I'll limit myself to the 20mm to 50mm range next time.
My favourite shot:
Culture shock O.o haha... glad this turned out well.
